Tracy Morgan returns here as veejay Buster Philips (Shot 1), introducing the new music video from Sir Smoka Lot, “Samson Gets Me Lifted” (Shot 2).  In a nice moment of self-referenciality, the director of the video is listed as Tamra Davis, the director of Half-Baked.  Even more self-referential is the fact that Sir Smoka Lot is played by Dave Chapelle, who also plays the lead role in the film.  A cut from a shot of Smoka Lot sitting in a chair (made of weed, in a suit made of weed) (Shot 4) to a matching shot of Dave (as Thurgood) sitting in his chair (Shot 5) emphasizes the similarity.  Moreover, the title of the song, “Samson Gets Me Lifted,” refers to the drug dealer that the characters buy their drugs from.
